It's busy times at the Mendeck house. New photos up on the Month 4 link. ----------------- New photos up on the Month 3 link. ----------------- New photos up on the Month 1 link. ----------------- Pictures of Carina in the NICU and a few of her at home posted to the left. And, yes, I did whittle them down - we've taken three times as many! ----------------- We brought Carina home yesterday (June 4). She's doing well adapting to her new surroundings. The dogs are pretty fascinated with her; there's lots of sniffing going on! ----------------- Carina is doing very, very well. It looks like everything was a false alarm. I was allowed to breastfeed her today. The nurse says that they're considering releasing her on Monday. Notice the photos to the left. I'm updating the "In the hospital - Gavin's" album as we get more photos. Keep checking back regularly. ----------------- Carina Faye Mendeck was born on May 27, 2007. Weight: 7 lb, 11 oz Length: 19 in Mama was discharged on May 29, 2007. I'm feeling well. Carina has been spitting up blood, so she has to stay in the NICU for at least 3-5 days while the doctors figure out what is going on with her. Her vitals are all good, she's not anemic, she's active, and nothing bad has been found on the x-rays yet. The doctors are taking good care of her, and they expect that she'll continue to do well. Mom and Dad are disappointed that she couldn't come home today, but we're sure she'll be with us soon ----------------- As of Monday (May 21) the doctor says I'm right on track for my due date. (Give or take.) We're still in waiting mode. I managed to catch a cold this week, which is even less fun 38 weeks pregnant than it normally would be. ------------------ We had the doctor again today (May 14). I've started dilating - just a tiny bit ~1 cm. The doctor says he thinks I'll see him in the office at least once more, though. ------------------- I put up some pictures of the decked-out nursery. See After 1 and After 2 to the left. It looks great! We don't have the glider up there yet, but that's it. We went to the doctor today (May 8). The baby has dropped a bit, buts it looks like it will be a few more weeks. ---------------- Thanks to everyone who came to our showers and gave us so many great things for Baby M! We're so lucky to have great friends like you all. After we get everything put together, I'll post some pictures of the nursery with all the stuff set up. I'm still feeling pretty well, although I have started having some pretty uncomfortable swelling in my feet and legs. Baby is very active, and moving around quite a bit. Gavin had some fun last night talking to the baby through my belly, which really got him/her going for a bit! I had to get up and go to the bathroom. :) ----------------- 28 week ultrasound photo available. ----------------- Welcome to the Baby Mendeck Countdown Status page. I decided that this would be an easy(er) way to get out information about the baby, the room, the registry, and everything else people want to know. We'll see how ambitious I am with updating it as we go. Check back! Everyone has been asking about registries. There are links to the right for the web registries. The Babies R Us and Target registries are available in the store, as well. We haven't put much in the way of clothing and toys on the registry. We'll trust to your good taste there! Also, we do not know the sex of the baby - we're going to be surprised. So, neutrals are best. Another question we've gotten is about the nursery. I took a somewhat dark photo and linked to it at the left. I got some bedding from a friend - it is sage green. I registered for a mobile that matches the animal border in the room. Other than that, I'll let people use their own judgment about what goes. |
